Great piece, and thanks for making me more attuned to nature lately, KaZ. Did the final leg of the Road Feast trip up to ME from RI today, and I would have missed the trees blooming in reverse if I hadn't taken that extra drive north; the lighter greens and the bare trees were just an hour's drive away from home. Glad I din't miss all of what spring has to offer! :)
Isn't that fantastic? Taking the time to take in our surroundings is so worth it. Congratulations on your Road Feast trip. I've been from Rhode Island to Maine then across to the Canadian border many times and I loved every moment of it.
I agree with you I don't want to love southern Florida but I absolutely do. Not all of it, mind you, the nature and wildlife. The jury is out on a lot of the people.🤔😝 I love living in central Florida. I am surrounded by wildlife every day. Although the encroachments on their habitats is disgusting throughout the state.
I think you crystalized my thoughts, KaZ. I had no idea that you were in central FL; I would have waved as I drove past! :) Yup, it breaks my heart how the encroachments and the potential environmental impacts (I’m thinking pesticides from all the golf courses for starters) have certainly impacted the state. I mean, this is the state where they wanted to dispose of (and may already have) radioactive phosphorus by incorporating it into the roadways — as a way to dispose of it (as a by-product of FL’s phosphorus mining for fertilizer). No joke. Yup, I’m full of FL ambivalence. ;) - Seth ✦
I couldn’t agree with you more. But we are fighting. There are so many citizens up in arms about what these money grubbing, power-hungry elites are trying to do to the state of Florida. The wilds keep on disappearing as does the wildlife. I remember the first two times I lived here. I would see armadillos everywhere and now it’s an incredibly rare occurrence. Flamingoes are just starting to come back and can only be seen in southern Florida. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. We got that horrible sloth world shut down and that’s a huge accomplishment. Next time you pass through, we’ll take you to someplace fun to eat. Shockingly, Orlando has become a foodie town.
Lol, there's nothing like getting "really close" to nature. I have a few very au naturel in nature that are just in my private collection. Nothing really risqué. And probably nothing more than you've seen on an Instagram, X or TikTok posts. We talk about communion with nature. And the ducks rock.
Oh KaZ - The fact that you have a few au natural shots is one of the many reasons I think you are simply amazing. What haven’t you done? However, if someone said - name one of your friends that would have such, you’d be on my short list! Because you’re so damn cool. - Seth ✦
Lol. I don’t know how cool I am. We are nature so we have to be one with it. Find your own special, private place, shuck it all off and feel the wind on your skin, absorb just enough vitamin D, but make sure you don’t burn! 😂 Maybe I’ll get brave enough to share a few of them. Honestly, they’re incredibly tame compared to what’s out there. I think it’s the most free one can feel. The most at one with our surroundings.
We need more people who can give back to Nature. Not that it can compensate or restore a fraction of what we take away. The photo you've taken here is also beautiful. It is a lovely frog.
Yeah! I think I figured out why I couldn’t comment on your posts. Let’s see. But I love this frog and I love nature! Frogs and crickets are my favorite music and can bring me such feelings of peace like nothing else. :)

Thanks, KaZ! This whole trip had my mind focused on the outdoors and the changes through spring -- from palms, palmettos, all the way up to the pines.
And of course, there were the ducks (in my recent piece). I couldn't post the other video, as it would have been banned in a few states. ;)
Nature rocks.
And so do you, KaZ. :) - Seth ✦
